Frequently asked questions
Answers about Menu Ai, importing files, credits and catalog management.
Is Menu-in only for restaurants?
No. It supports restaurants and cafés, hotels, salons, shops, tyre centres, dry cleaners, medical suppliers and other businesses. Choose your business sector separately from the presentation format: menu, services or product catalog.
Can I build a catalog from a PDF or image?
Can Excel include images, extras and variants?
Yes. The simple template includes core product fields and separate optional sheets for extras and variants. In XLSX, place one JPG, PNG or WebP over the cell in the Image column for each product row. Image URLs, IMAGE formulas and special in-cell images are not supported. Upload limits are shown in the panel.

Will a price update change my images or descriptions?
Price-only mode updates prices while preserving existing images and descriptions. For a broader update, choose the fields to change in the preview. Excel images can keep the existing image, replace it or be skipped.
How are Menu AI credits calculated?
Image/PDF import uses one credit per image or PDF page. Description and image generation costs appear on the action button. Credits can be granted by an admin, included in eligible plans or offered in available packages. Purchases depend on enabled payment methods. Excel import does not use AI credits.
Can I preview the design before saving?
The business create/edit form provides a phone preview for theme and appearance changes. After saving, also check the published catalog on a phone. Use logo, cover, colour and font settings to match your brand.
Can Menu AI write descriptions and create images?
Yes, enabled tools in Studio and the product editor can prepare text and image drafts. Review and select the result, then save the product. Confirm ingredients and other product facts before publishing.
Can product images follow one style?
Choose an available image style for your business. An admin can analyse one to three reference images, review the suggested rules and save a style. This helps align backgrounds, lighting and composition; each result still needs review.
Does my customer need to install an app?
No. Your link or QR code opens the catalog in the customer's phone browser. No separate app installation is needed.
Can a product have multiple sizes and prices?
Yes. Use variants for sizes, volumes and other choices, and extras for additional products or services. During import, check that each price matches its size and that option groups are consistent.
How do orders, video and AR work?
Enabled order types are managed in the panel. You can upload product videos and prepared ingredient animations. AR requires a compatible 3D model file and supported device. AI video generation is not currently active; prepare and upload video and 3D files separately.
Can I offer multiple catalog languages?
Can I add opening hours and Google Maps?
Yes. Add hours, address, phone and social profiles. Google Maps supports standard sharing links, short maps.app.goo.gl links and compatible embed information. Check the map in the catalog after saving.
Can an admin see import history and restore an import?
New saved imports appear in admin change history. The latest eligible import can be restored after checks for subsequent edits and related orders. Restoration is blocked when those checks cannot protect current data.
Must I reprint the QR code when my catalog changes?
If the catalog link stays the same, product and price changes do not require a new QR code. Check existing codes if you change the link. Explore physical display options on the QR stands page.
How do I start and choose a plan?
Get started opens login, where you can register if you do not have an account. Add your business and prepare the catalog. Compare limits and included features on the Pricing page; AI credits are shown separately.
